Biography
Originally from Osaka, Japan, HIKARI is an award-winning writer, director and producer. Her directorial debut feature “37 Seconds” premiered at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival in Panorama section and received the Audience Award, CICEA Art Cinema Award and nomination for the GWFF Best First Feature Film Award. The film is in the official selection for the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, BFI London plus more. Her other credits include Tsuyako (2011, Drama, Winner of DGA Student Award for Best Female Filmmaker), Where We Begin (2015, Drama/Dance, Tribeca FF) and Lexus Short Film series, A Better Tomorrow (2013, Fantasy-Adventure, Cannes FF). She holds master in Film and TV Production from USC SCA. She’s currently developing multiple projects including feature films and TV series for USA and Japan. She’s represented by WME.
