Biography
My area of expertise is the intersection of curation and inclusion in arts and entertainment. As a queer bi-racial female, I have been empowering storytellers for 20 years - as a fiction editor, development executive, film producer and festival programmer. I'm a natural connector and I've built a reputation for creating change and elevating those around me. I'm dedicated to championing underrepresented voices and enabling organizations to embrace the demographics of the communities they serve.
Alongside colleagues at Sundance, Frameline and Berlinale, I recently launched the Programmers of Colour Collective, with the goal of making film festivals more inclusive spaces. As a Senior Programmer at the Tribeca Film Festival my focus is curating feature films from underrepresented filmmakers. This year, I also produced the company's first LGBTQ+ event: Tribeca Celebrates Pride, a day of community conversations and panel discussions to mark the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots.
Prior to Tribeca, I was the Director of Programming at Outfest where I oversaw their trio of LGBTQ+ film festivals and launched the now annual Trans Summit event. Before moving into programming, I produced a number of theatrical feature films. I'm still interested in producing but only work that centers the queer experience, and moves the conversation about my community forward.
I am currently working with Tribeca to launch a film fund dedicated to financing and producing work from LGBTQ+ creatives.
