Jeannette Godoy is a first generation, Mexican American director and writer. She started her career as a choreographer working in film, television and commercials. She is most widely known for having choreographed the pop culture hit music video, Baby Got Bac_k, by Sir Mix A Lot. She also choreographed the film, _CB4, starring Chris Rock.
She recently celebrated the release of her first feature film, _Diamond in the Rough, _a Latina led comedy, produced by Creator+ which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and Tubi. She also directed an episode of _The Garcias, _a family comedy for HBO Max, which was shot on location in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico.
Jeannette created and directed a short series for Bumble. Pure Corazón follows 3 Latinx, Gen Z daters from different cultural backgrounds as they courageously navigate dating, life, and cultural identity.
She also directed the cold open for the HBO Max Ha Comedy Festival. Starring Latino legend, Danny Trejo, and rising star, Isabella Alvarez, the comedic piece, opened the successful festival.
Jeannette is a member of the prestigious DGA Women’s Steering Committee Squad as well as a fellow of the Sony Pictures TV Diverse Directors Program. She has shadowed producing director, Joe Menendez, on the Freeform series, Siren and Patricia Cardoso on Party of Five. _She currently has a drama pilot in development with Campanario Entertainment. _Varsity Moves, is a multigenerational, dance drama about Latino teenagers, their families and how they navigate coming of age as a person of color in today’s competitive high school dance world.
For over ten years, Jeannette has directed commercials for numerous brands including Facebook, Nike, Bumble and more. She’s received several prestigious nominations including the Young Director Award at Cannes, as well as SHOOT Magazine’s New Director’s Showcase.
