A struggling Black college grad wakes up to find that reparations have finally been paid to descendants of slaves in America. With this new found capital, he will decide how best to spend his reparations, totaling a mere $16,000.
Summary:
In an attempt to “solve racism” in 21st Century America, the government has finally distributed reparations to African Americans... with disappointing results. After receiving their checks, undercover optimist Brodie takes on the task of course correcting his scheming sister Ellington’s attempts to level up in dystopian racial capitalism. Along with their happy-go-lucky best friend David, these characters are on a journey to discover what the true American dream looks like - contemplating the importance of community vs. individualism. Is the grass really greener on the other side of reparations, or is it mo’ money mo’ problems?
