Biography
A gifted and capable filmmaker, Zoe McIntosh has an innate ability to connect with both actors and real people to bring the most genuine and compelling performances to each story. Graduating from the prestigious Ilam School of Fine Arts; McIntosh entered the industry with a splash through her international acclaimed feature length documentary, Lost in Wonderland, which explored one man’s search for justice. Going from strength to strength, McIntosh then went on to write and direct her first dramatic short film Day trip, about a gang member who decides to take a spontaneous overseas trip. The film went on to win major awards at Clermont Ferrand, Montreal and Mexico. Her most recent short film The World in Your Window is a heartwarming tale of grief, family and circumstance and was awarded the prestigious Jury prize at the 2017 Clermont-Ferrand film festival and also won Best international short film at; Melbourne, Flicker fest, Short shorts Asia, Tahiti and Vancouver women in film int film festival. It is now Oscar accredited for 2019. Beyond her impressive success as a documentary and narrative filmmaker; McIntosh has also shot campaigns for a host of major brands including ALDI, Cadbury, Sky TV and YWCA. Celebrated within the industry, McIntosh was awarded Young Director of the Year at Cannes in 2013 and has been invited to judge the 2017 D&AD Awards.
