EDITOR BIO
Jack is an editor who has been working in high-end TV and Film drama since 2014.
As a drama editor he's currently editing a new Netflix series .He cut an episode of the BBC series Sparks (winner of a Broadcast Digital Award 2021) and multiple episodes of BBCs River City. He has also worked as assembly editor for shows such as Outlander (Sony Starz) and Three Pines (Amazon) and is returning to Outlander as editor later this year.
Hes edited films for broadcasters and funders such as BBC, BFI Network, Screen Scotland, SDI amongst many other. The films have screened all around the world at Oscar qualifying and BAFTA qualifying festival such as Galway Fleadh, Interfilm Berlin and Frameline Film Festival and have won/nominated/shortlisted for various awards including the prestigious Grierson Award.
He also has editing experience as a promo/commercial editor. Highlights have been cutting (and grading) branded content for brands such as Nespresso, McLaren and Santander amongst many others. Jack is part of the BFI Network x BAFTA Crew 2021 and associate member of the British Film Editors.
DIRECTOR BIO
Originally from the Netherlands, Jack moved to the UK to study filmmaking at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. In 2018 he won the Glasgow Short Film Festival Production Attic pitch with his film, Bouba & Kiki (2019), which premiered in the BAFTA qualifying competition at the festival the following year. That same year Jack was selected for the prestigious BFI Network Weekender. His short film Everyman (2021) was commissioned through the Scottish Documentary Institute’s Bridging the Gap programme. It won Best short film at SQIFF, as well as being shortlisted for a Grierson Award and screening at multiple BAFTA and Oscar qualifying festivals - including Galway Fleadh, Interfilm Berlin, DOC NYC, Frameline and Bogoshorts.
They've just finished a short film titled 'Who I Am Now', funded by Creative Scotland and LEAP. The script has been written by BAFTA winning writer Michael Lee Richardson and is being produced by Reece Cargan at Bombito productions. Who I Am Now is premiering at the BAFTA qualifying Edinburgh International Film Festival 2022. Jack is developing their first feature, Boifriend, as writer-director and has received early development funding for this through Short Circuit.
