Sonja Phillips is an-award winning writer and director, based in London and Los Angeles. Her work encompasses short drama, documentaries and branded content. Sonja comes into own when she is directing real people and making a genuine connection with the people she films. There is a genuine mutual respect between Sonja and the subjects that runs through all her work, so the beauty, humanity and joy of the story feels completely authentic.
Her drama debut, The Knickerman, won her the L.A. Short Film Festival, Sonja repeated her success in L.A. with her second fiction short The Pond, also winning the Sapporo and Rhode Island International Film Festivals.
Her latest works are a campaign about Homelessness in Los Angeles for Help House Her, two films about combatting loneliness in Old Age for Entelechy Arts, and a film about the need for special changing facilities for people travelling with severe disabilities for Tesco and Changing Places.
