Kirsten Lepore is a Los Angeles-based director-animator and alumna of California Institute of the Arts. She is best known for her stop motion short films, primarily Sweet Dreams, Bottle, Move Mountain. Her films have taken top prizes at SXSW, Slamdance, Stuttgart Animation festival, Florida Film Fest, Arizona Film Fest, Vimeo Awards, the Annie Awards, and many others. She has given talks across the globe and has also been featured in Juxtapoz, Shots Magazine, Animation Magazine, and named one of the 50 Most Creative People by Creativity. With a client list including Google, MTV, Facebook, Nickelodeon, Yo Gabba Gabba, Whole Foods, Toyota, and more, her work has been featured on television, the internet, in museums, and in over 100 international film festivals. Furthermore, Variety named Lepore one of “2017 10 Animators to Watch.” In 2016, Kirsten wrote and directed the Emmy-winning stop-motion episode, “Bad Jubies,” for Cartoon Network’s hit show, Adventure Time. She also wrote, directed, and animated the viral short film “Hi Stranger,” a contribution to Late Night Work Club’s “Strangers.” This stop-motion film garnered over 140 million views, even inspiring Stephen Colbert to create a Donald Trump-centric parody on The Late Show. In 2017, Kirsten co-directed the documentary short 100 Years with Lena Dunham. Giving an animated history of Planned Parenthood, the film features an all-star cast, including America Ferrera, Mindy Kaling, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, and Constance Wu. The following year, she acted as the writer and storyboard artist for the episode, “It’s My Party,” on season one of Cartoon Network’s series Summer Camp Island.
