Biography
Award-winning director Siri Bunford has managed a career allowing her to shoot everything from documentaries to promos to commercials. As a former editor she has a wonderful eye for a story, and is equally at home shooting celebrity footballers and ‘A’ list stars as she is with real people, actors and kids. For More4’s celebrity interstitial campaign, she interviewed Iggy Pop, Werner Herzog, Eartha Kitt, Anthony Bourdain and many others, creating memorable and intimate spots which allow us to see a more natural and unstudied side of these noted artists.
After graduating from university with a degree in Medieval English, she entered the television industry as an editor cutting promos and documentaries, including The Road to Kabul, about the war between the Northern Alliance and the Taliban in Afghanistan.
In 2001 Siri began directing at Channel 4, finishing her time there as a Creative Director at 4Creative and her iconic spot, Stanley Kubrick, a 60 second steady-cam shot with no cuts, recreated the set of The Shining, winning a coveted yellow pencil at the D&AD awards. It also received a BTA Diploma award. Her Nike, Mr. Sun, online film was nominated for a British Arrow. Siri has been awarded 15 Gold Promax awards for her various commercials and promos for Channel 4.
Siri is in constant demand as a commercial director and over the years has earned international recognition for her work with a plethora of brands including Orange, Renault, The Gold Council, British Airways, Ulster Bank, Prudential, Dulux, Adidas, Waitrose, Siemens, Visit Wales, Vaseline, The Times, Heineken, Guinness, Nike and Finlandia Vodka. In 2017, she has worked with Google & 72andSunny for their Super Bowl Google Home campaign in addition to shooting a highly praised experimental Sainsbury spot with Wieden + Kennedy London.
Siri was a finalist for Director of the Year at 2017's Ad Age A-List & Creativity Awards. She is represented internationally by Knucklehead.
