Jayne Lies is a film director, photographer and creative director based in New York City since 2009, born and raised in Hong Kong. Her work strives to document and connect the human condition across time and space - a voice for people who exist on the margins of life. Lies has worked with a number of international publications, and self-published her debut book in 2018 named "520" - a celebration of her story of freedom featuring photos, paintings and written pieces created during her first seven years as an emerging immigrant in NYC, or an exile of Hong Kong. "520" was exhibited in NY Art Book Fair 2018 along with a film "Wonderful Law Pt 2" was screened during the exhibition. "520" can be found at the Irene Lewisohn Costume Reference Library of The Metropolitan Museum. Her second photography book and film “Flower Spirits”, documented eight up-and-coming stars from Tokyo, nodded by Ryuichi Sakamoto, can be found in NY, Tokyo and all social media platforms @jaynelies. Currently she is working on a screenplay of a full length film and other film projects, including music videos and a documentary series.
