ALLISON ELBL
MILCK (Connie K Lim) is a recording and social change artist who writes of the times, and how we find our voices within them. She gained international recognition when her song “Quiet” went viral and became coined as the unofficial anthem of the Women’s March. “Quiet” is translated into multiple languages by choirs all over the world, and has featured as part of NPR’s American Anthem series. In 2017, Billboard called “Quiet” the No. 1 protest song of the year. “Quiet” is also the ending theme song to Broadway play Gloria, honoring Gloria Steinem. MILCK has performed this anthem as survivors of Larry Nassar walked the stage during the 2018 ESPYS.
As a composer, she scored the ad spot directed by Alma Harel for Proctor & Gamble's 2018 Olympics campaign. She has also composed national and international spots for Secret Deodorant, and Oil of Olay. In partnership with Freeform Network, MILCK has also created unique custom pieces, including a cover of "This Land is Your Land" for their hit show Mother Land.
MILCK has shared the stage with Michelle Obama, Oprah, Jason Mraz, Yoko Ono, and Ani DiFranco. MILCK partnered with GRAMMY Award-winning producer Malay (Frank Ocean, Alicia Keys) to create her EP entitled Into Gold, as shared by Reese Witherspoon and TIME magazine.
Having “cemented her status as one of music’s voices for the women’s movement,” MILCK continues to use music as a means to work towards social justice. Written amidst protests for Black Lives Matter, MILCK’s timely and poignant new song “Somebody’s Beloved” (Ft. Bipolar Sunshine) chronicles the life-shattering effects of systemic racism in America.
