Biography
Born in 1993 in New York, Tara Violet Niami is an award-winning photographer and cinematographer from LA. She is a dual citizen in the US & UK. Tara has an MFA from American Film Institute Conservatory in Cinematography and a BFA in photography at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She is represented by Claire Best of Claire Best & Associates. Tara was most recently the cinematographer of Ramin Niami’s independent feature film Eye Without A Face which will be released later this year. She will be shooting Ramin's next feature film, an Iranian American family drama. Additionally, she has shot Madame Gandhi's latest video for See Me Thru released by Billboard in January 2020, filmed Cali and Dandee for Somebody to Love a Leona Lewis track they are featured on for NBC's Songland. Tara also shot a fashion film with Tota Lee for Molly Pepper clothing to be finished and released this year. She has also directed and shot a number of narrative shorts, documentary films, music videos, and TV pilots. She has shot on multiple formats including: 35mm film, super 16 film, and digital.
