Biography


Born in 1993 in New York, Tara Violet Niami is an award-winning photographer and cinematographer from LA. She is a dual citizen in the US & UK. Tara has an MFA from American Film Institute Conservatory in Cinematography and a BFA in photography at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She is represented by Claire Best of Claire Best & Associates. ​ Tara was most recently the cinematographer of Ramin Niami’s independent feature film Eye Without A Face which will be released later this year. She will be shooting Ramin's next feature film, an Iranian American family drama. ​ Additionally, she has shot Madame Gandhi's latest video for See Me Thru released by Billboard in January 2020, filmed Cali and Dandee for Somebody to Love a Leona Lewis track they are featured on for NBC's Songland. Tara also shot a fashion film with Tota Lee for Molly Pepper clothing to be finished and released this year. She has also directed and shot a number of narrative shorts, documentary films, music videos, and TV pilots. She has shot on multiple formats including: 35mm film, super 16 film, and digital.
