Biography
BIOGRAPHY Christopher is a Latinx filmmaker and writer of ASSIMILATED, from a racist town near Fresno; he helped oust a Mayor as a KKK member. After experiencing how stories can fight injustice, he turned to cinema and received his MFA from USC and brings his outsider vision directing A-list talent (The Rock, Wayne Brady, Jack Black), top brands (Netflix, T-Moble, Twix, Kroger, GrubHub), studios (BuzzFeed, Roku, Funny Or Die, Viacom) and continues his commitment to the community through teaching directing at USC. His films have screened at festivals, including Hollyshorts, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Cinequest, Cleveland International Film Festival, Nantucket International Film Festival, and more where they have won multiple awards. His screenplays have been a finalist in the ScreenCraft Film Fund and Oaxaca Film Festival. It was a 2nd Rounder at Austin Film Festival, a semi-finalist in Killer Shorts, WeScreenplay Diverse Voices, a Quarterfinalist in Slamdance, and the Official Selection of Coverfly Pitch Week, and scripts are in the top 1% of Coverflys projects. QUALIFICATIONS PROFILE Dynamic and Award-winning Director / Writer / Executive Producer with over 14 years of experience writing, directing, and promoting a wide variety of video content across traditional and digital media. Over ten years in audio/radio broadcast journalism. 6 years in post-production management. Skilled in working with major companies such as BuzzFeed, TimeWarner, Seven Bucks Productions, Studio 71, Funny Or Die, Roku, Viacom, Netflix, Sun-Maid, T-Mobile, YouTube, GrubHub, Twix, Kroger, RedLight Management, Domino Records, Decoded Advertising, Madison+Vine, and Bullet Magazine and celebrity clients such as The Rock, Jack Black, Will Smith, and Colin Hanks. Developed branded content and launched highly successful projects, campaigns, and shows such as BuzzFeed's "The Try Guys" and "Tasty." Developed mentorship/education programs at UC Santa Cruz, BuzzFeed, Super Deluxe, and Studio 71 that have elevated the work of multiple workplaces, to create a pipeline to streamline creative development and lower the cost per piece of content. During COVID, he became the "Go-To" COVID director for Funny Or Die, helping develop policies and practices that make remote directing simpler, more cost-effective, all while staying calm under pressure.
