Eliza is a writer-director originally from Vancouver, Canada. She has crafted commercials and music videos for clients such as VICE, Dove, Ninja Tune, and Arts & Crafts Records. In 2018, she directed a music video for the platinum-selling duo, FRENSHIP, featuring acclaimed actress Millicent Simmonds (star of A Quiet Place, Wonderstruck), who is deaf, delivering a powerful performance of the song in American Sign Language. Her 2016 short film, The After Party, has screened at various festivals across North America.
Eliza is a graduate of Simon Fraser University’s school of communications and UCLA’s directing program.
Her filmmaking approach thoughtfully balances style with substance, fusing distinctly dreamy and atmospheric visuals with emotive, nuanced performances and compelling storytelling. Drawing from her interdisciplinary background, her work tends to confront societal issues and cultural phenomenons, often in terms of their impact on women.
