Rashid’s first experience with the photographic arts was during his primary school years when his art instructor introduced him to the dark room. During the summer months he worked part time to purchase a Canon AE-1 and continued to develop film and prints at his school's dark room with his art instructor guiding him through the process. In high school Rashid began shooting music videos on Super 8 and VHS cameras for himself and his classmates for their history of classical music class.
During his studies in photography and the art of design at the Maryland Institute College of Arts he was introduced by his counselor to Dean Alexander, an award winning photographer and director. He began assisting Alexander and managing his studio. Rashid was also a camera operator for many of Deans documentary and commercial productions. He worked with Alexander for several years on over a hundred award winning advertisement, commercial and fashion projects. He began shooting documentaries and advertisements with other Directors of Photography in the Maryland area before moving to Los Angeles to continue his journey as a visual artist.
While living in Los Angeles Rashid developed a unique international network and began traveling between LA, Peru and eastern Europe to collaborate and form relationships with like minded artists. In 2015, he decided to relocate from Los Angeles to Prague and quickly integrated into to Czech film community. In 2020, Rashid established Don’t Rush the Frame a film and commercial production company based in Prague.
