Asli Baykal is a Turkish filmmaker based in New York. After growing up in Istanbul and gathering stories to tell, she went on to study film at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. While finishing her degree, she was lucky to acquire invaluable internships with directors such as Martin Scorsese, Darren Aronofsky and Todd Solondz. Upon graduating, her short film called “Cherry”, participated in the 2013 Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. Asli set up her own production company, Tank, with her classmate and fellow female director Tracy Antonopoulos. She recently directed music videos for Karen O, Princess Nokia, Ex Reyes and BaBa ZuLa as well as branded projects for clients such as APC, Nasty Gal, i-D Mag, Vogue.
