Biography
Barbie Leung is a New York based cinematographer with a dark lyrical visual style, as showcased in Todd Bogin’s upcoming feature "Left With Only Rain." Her camerawork has screened at Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, Fantasia, and Outfest.
Leung is a 2021 recipient of The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Vision Mentorship Program, and in 2019 she was awarded a spot at the AFI Conservatory’s CIW Workshop. Leung is an Associate of the Society of Camera Operators (SOC), and a member of Local 600, the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG).
Recent narrative shorts include Irina Gorovaia’s "Yasha’s Tapochki" and Jon Lazar’s "_Zamboni." _Other notable work include TBS's "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee" Season 7, and the documentary feature "Unladylike" which world-premiered in 2020 at AFI Docs. Leung is filming a feature length documentary in 2022 for CNN Films about the rise and fall of social media tech companies.
