Her professional career began as an assistant director, while making her first forays into directing shorts (at 23, she was accepted to the Cine de Morelia film festival as director of a stop-motion animated short). After three years of AD work, Viridiana made her debut as a commercial director. She has had a fruitful, fast-rising career. “I can’t imagine doing anything else. Every time I look through the lens, the stories just come to me.” Viridiana has directed campaigns for Nestle, Unilever, Procter and Gamble, Pepsico, and L’Oreal. In her first year directing, she won the Best New Director prize in the Círculo Creativo Mexicano. She has a knack for fashion films and for capturing often unnoticed details of everyday life. Last year, she shot campaigns for L’Oreal (MX), Sabritas (MX), Gillette (NY), Knorr (Brazil). Most recently, she has shot for American Eagle Outfitters (a regular client) and H&M Mexico. Viridiana hopes to further her goal of filming around the world, inspired by new landscapes and people.
