A third culture Nigerian filmmaker and actor pursuing work that helps others feel seen and heard in the fullness of our humanity.
Miriam Agwai is a third culture Nigerian filmmaker and actor living in New York City. Her short film "Homecoming" screened at the NewFilmmakers NY, Estes Park Film Festival and Lady Filmmakers Film Festival in 2010. She directed the music video for "African Girl" by Naomi Wachira, which ran on DSTV, Citizen TV, Njata TV, KBC TV and the Africa Channel. She's worked in theatre, advertising, and TV production.
In 2019, she directed the play BALANCES by Janice Lagata as part of the Emerging Artists Theatre New Work Series. That same year, she wrote, directed, produced, and starred in two passion projects: The Things In Between, a short film that can be viewed at www.thethingsinbetween.com, and The Silver Feather, an online campaign for a jewelry line.
