Bodylands
Description :
The human body becomes a living sculpture in this short film that aims to reimagine toxic societal beauty norms. Women are often asked to manipulate ourselves in a variety of ways to fit into traditional notions of beauty. The imagery aims to creates a safe and empowering space for women to embrace their individuality without shame, presenting images that defy traditional canons of beauty and expand the meaning of form and shape. The subjects are placed in tight graphic compositions to create a sense of restriction, subtly showcasing the perpetual struggle to overcome limits and highlighting the inherent human desire for growth and freedom. There is no wrong way to have a body.
