Ashley Rodholm is a director and editor originally from Palm Springs, Ca. She always set out to be a director, but started her career as an editor and has developed strong story instincts for documentaries. Her short experimental documentary 3020 Laguna St. In Exitum, which she edited and co-directed, premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival in 2013, where it won the first prize Golden Gate Award. In 2015, Ashley directed a short documentary Step into the Page with legendary Disney animator Glen Keane, a piece about his experimentation with cutting-edge Virtual Reality tools. The film has received over 2 million views, was a Vimeo Staff Pick, and was featured on several notable sites including Forbes, The Verge, Variety, and Fast Co. In 2018 she edited a short narrative film, The Slows, the directing debut from screenwriter Nicole Perlman (co-writer of Marvel Studios’ blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel). The Slows premiered at Fantastic Fest and went on to screen at several festivals, including the New York Film Festival. The short documentary Exit 12, directed by Mohammad Gorjestani and edited by Ashley, premiered at SXSW 2019, where it won the award for best short documentary. It went on to screen at festivals across the country while garnering awards at D&AD, Clio, Vimeo Best of the Year, and a 1.4 award. It was then acquired by Searchlight Pictures. Ashley is currently a core member and head of post-production with Even/Odd – an award winning creative studio and production company in San Francisco.
